letting off some steam… returning to routine

The mid-week wakeup

No rightful steam off-getting is without the get-away. In this case it was an awesome two bedroom apartment… Here’s them on flickr.

Don’t get me wrong, we had a great time and I really boozed-it up in a safe surrounding. I’d been debating on-and-off about drinking: abstain? regular? occasion? My current was to drink lights or shandies. But for all the booze that was for the taking, I was seeing the benefits of abstaining.

So I decided to as from today. So yesterday’s Red Walker was the last.

I’ll miss drinking, I promise you that but I can’t just get well if I’m doing all this with a cocktail of other drugs.

The strategy to avoid temptation

I’ll not lie when I’m saying that I’d love a pint right not. Summer’s not right without beer. So my strategy to combat these urges is to move our gym into the den area… If an inkling comes on, might be about to work it out.

Routine

I’m working on that one now. Exercised early this AM was great. Walked for over an hour so that’s 300+ calories gone. I’m not running yet, I think I’ll talk-up walking briskly until I’m sure of my legs.

I’m going to be cooking regular dishes and will post some recipes if there’s any worthwhile.

So apologies for the silence, I’m just taking it all in.
