I’ve found the Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) Poster to be useful when I’m doing process-based work. The poster covers:
- Business process diagram graphical objects
- Business process diagram connecting objects
- Business process diagram notation — common patterns and anti-patterns (that is, correct and incorrect usage examples)

The 'Sequence flow & message flow rules' assists with diagrams being syntactically correct (read: anally-retentive).
